Wednesday 8th April 2026  
  The new rarities today included a 1st winter Bonaparte's Gull at Chickerell, Dorset, a male Sardinian Warbler trapped and ringed in Hilbre Island, Cheshire, a male Western Subalpine Warbler at Great Saltee, County Wexford, a Black Kite in flight over Stodmarsh NNR, Kent and one, potentially two Red-rumped Swallows which flew south over Spurn, East Yorkshire 50 minutes apart.

Continuing rarities today included American Bittern in County Cork, Harlequin Duck in County Donegal, Hooded Merganser in Warwickshire, Stejneger's Scoter in Fife, King Eider in Highland, Lesser Scaup in Shropshire and Buckinghamshire, Ferruginous Duck in Warwickshire, Richardson's Cackling Goose in Dumfries and Galloway, Marsh Sandpiper in County Durham, Long-billed Dowitcher in County Wexford, Lesser Yellowlegs in County Antrim and Denbighshire, Bonaparte's Gull in County Wexford and Cornwall and Dusky Warbler in Cornwall.
