  Mega highlights included Black-faced Buntings at four locations - one trapped and ringed at Nanjizal Valley, Cornwall; another trapped and ringed at Portland Bill, Dorset; and two on Fair Isle, Shetland - one at Walli Burn and another trapped at Auld Haa.

New rarities included several notable finds. Dusky Warblers were discovered at four locations: Filey Brigg, North Yorkshire; Stiffkey, Norfolk; Minsmere RSPB, Suffolk; and Tresco, Scilly. An Olive-backed Pipit was seen on St. Mary's, Scilly. Pallid Swifts were spotted at North Foreland, Kent; Portland Bill, Dorset; and Dundalk, Co. Louth.

Continuing rarities included Killdeer in Pembrokeshire, Pallid Harrier in Glamorgan, Richardson's Cackling Goose in Argyll, Lesser Yellowlegs in Anglesey, Lesser Scaup in Northants and Cornwall, Northern Harrier in Co. Wexford, Zitting Cisticolas in Suffolk, Radde's Warbler in Orkney, Harlequin Duck in Co. Donegal, White-rumped Sandpiper in Co. Derry, Daurian Shrike in Co. Wexford, and Red-breasted Goose in Argyll.
