| The highlight of the day was the discovery of a Hornemann's Redpoll on Shetland at North Gluss, Mainland; an unusual mid-winter occurrence.
Rarities elsewhere comprised the Booted Eagle still in Cornwall, American Coot and Ross's Goose both still in Shetland, White-winged Scoter in Fife, American Pipit in Northumberland, Least Sandpiper and Kentish Plover in Somerset, Red-breasted Goose in Argyll, Long-billed Dowitcher in Devon, Pallid Harriers in County Cork and Pembrokeshire, Ferruginous Duck in London, and Lesser Scaups in Derbyshire, Dorset, Essex, and Perth and Kinross. |
