  New discoveries today included a Penduline Tit at Gwithian, Cornwall, a Desert Wheatear at Winterton, Norfolk, a Lesser Scaup at Lough Neagh, County Armagh and two White-rumped Sandpipers at Seafield, County Clare.

The Scarlet Tanager reappeared in Yorkshire, with other lingering rarities including the Pied Wheatear in Sussex, Penduline Tit in Cheshire, Double-crested Cormorant in County Leitrim, Northern Harrier in County Wexford, Pallid Harrier and Long-billed Dowitcher in Norfolk, another Long-billed Dowitcher in Devon, Spotted Sandpiper in Fife, White-rumped Sandpipers in Gloucestershire and Western Isles (four), Lesser Scaups in Devon, Cambridgeshire, County Wexford and Staffordshire, Hooded Merganser in Wiltshire and Ferruginous Duck in Warwickshire.
