| The highlight of the day was the continued presence of the Canvasback in Essex at Abberton Reservoir, whilst lingering rarities elsewhere comprised the Bufflehead still in County Antrim, Red-breasted Goose, Pallid Swift, and Pallid Harrier in Norfolk, Kentish Plover in Somerset, White-rumped Sandpiper in Gloucestershire, Lesser Yellowlegs in Suffolk, King Eider on the Western Isles, Lesser Scaup in County Donegal, and Ferruginous Duck in Cambridgeshire.
Discoveries today included a Lesser Scaup on the Western Isles on South Uist and a Coues's Arctic Redpoll on the Shetland Isles on Whalsay. Significant late news concernes a Rose-breasted Grosbeak present yesterday near Skibbereen, County Cork. |
