Rarities today comprised the Pacific Golden Plover still on the Orkney Isles, Caspian Tern again in County Dublin, Long-billed Dowitcher and three Bee-eaters still in Norfolk, King Eider in Lothian, Bonaparte's Gull in Kent, Lesser Scaups in both Cambridgeshire and Norfolk, Wilson's Petrels at sea off County Cork (3) and the Isles of Scilly, and Black-winged Stilts in Lincolnshire (8) South Yorkshire (6). Scarcities included Purple Heron (Northumberland), two each of Great Shearwater, Night Heron, and Ring-necked Duck, three Long-tailed Skuas, four Glossy Ibises, five Pectoral Sandpipers, and a total of 70 Cory's Shearwaters. |
