The highlight of the day was Caspian Terns with two together in Norfolk at Breydon Water and in Northumberland two together at East Chevington.

Rarities elsewhere comprised the Least Tern still in County Dublin, Roller still on the Isle of Wight, American Black Tern in Northumberland, Pacific Golden Plover on the Orkney Isles, Long-billed Dowitcher and three Bee-eaters in Norfolk, Alpine Swift in Cumbria, King Eider in Lothian, Bonaparte's Gull in Kent, Wilson's Petrels in Cornwall (2) and off the Isles of Scilly (5), and Black-winged Stilts in Gloucestershire, Lincolnshire, and South Yorkshire (6).

Scarcities included White-winged Black Tern (County Wexford), Rose-coloured Starling (Shetland Isles), Common Rosefinch (Highland), Purple Heron (Northumberland), Pectoral Sandpiper (Cleveland), Temminck's Stint (East Yorkshire), Cory's Shearwater (Devon), Glossy Ibis (Suffolk), two Night Herons, and three Great Shearwaters.

Significant late news concerned a Barolo Shearwater heard singing overnight on Cape Clear, County Cork.
