Discoveries today included a Pacific Golden Plover in East Yorkshire at Spurn, a Caspian Tern in County Dublin at Swords Estuary, a Great Reed Warbler reported in Gloucestershire at Tidenham Chase, and two Wilson's Petrels flew past Strumble Head, Pembrokeshire.

Rarities elsewhere comprised the Least Tern still in County Dublin, Roller still on the Isle of Wight, American Black Tern in Northumberland, Long-billed Dowitcher and Lesser Scaup in Norfolk, Bonaparte's Gull in Kent, Black-winged Stilt in Gloucestershire and South Yorkshire (2), and Bee-eaters in Kent and Norfolk (3).

Scarcities included White-winged Black Tern (Aberdeenshire), Common Rosefinch (Highland), American Wigeon (Lincolnshire), Purple Heron (Northumberland), Rose-coloured Starling (North Yorkshire), Red-backed Shrike (Orkney Isles), Ring-necked Duck (Suffolk), two each of Night Heron, Pectoral Sandpiper, and Great Shearwater, and a total of six Glossy Ibises.
