Discoveries today included a Red-footed Falcon in Kent at Dungeness, a White-billed Diver on the Western Isles on Barra, and Wilson's Petrels at sea off County Cork and the Isles of Scilly. Otherwise rarities comprised the Little Crake still in song in Cambridgeshire, Savi's Warbler still in Cleveland, King Eider in Aberdeenshire, three Bee-eaters together in Norfolk, and Black-winged Stilts in Gloucestershire, Norfolk (2), and South Yorkshire (2). Scarcities included White-winged Black Tern (Lincolnshire), Serin (Dorset), Common Rosefinch (Cumbria), American Golden Plover and Rose-coloured Starling (Norfolk), Icterine Warbler and Grey-headed Wagtail (Shetland Isles), Hoopoe (Highland), Purple Heron (Bedfordshire), Glossy Ibis (Cambridgeshire), two Ring-necked Ducks, three Night Herons, and five Marsh Warblers. |
