Rarities today comprised the White-throated Sparrow still teasing birders in Cheshire, Greater Yellowlegs in County Waterford, Isabelline Wheatear in Cornwall, Pallid Harrier and Long-billed Dowitcher both still in Norfolk, Hume's Warblers in both Kent and Somerset, Kentish Plover in Somerset, Lesser Scaups in Somerset and Surrey, and Ferruginous Ducks in Norfolk (2) and County Tyrone.

Scarcities included Pallas's Warbler (Kent), Richard's Pipit (Dorset), Rose-coloured Starling (Somerset), Surf Scoter (Anglesey), American Wigeon (Somerset), Green-winged Teal (County Kerry), Sabine's Gull and Great Grey Shrike (Hampshire), two each of Little Bunting, Ring-billed Gull, Yellow-browed Warbler, and Black Brant, nine of Ring-necked Duck and Glossy Ibis, 16 Shorelarks, and a total of 36 Waxwings.
