Rarities today comprised the Harlequin Duck back on the Western Isles on Barra, White-winged Scoter and Hooded Merganser both still in County Mayo, Greater Yellowlegs in County Waterford, Isabelline Wheatear in Cornwall, Pallid Harrier and Long-billed Dowitcher in Norfolk, Hume's Warblers in Kent and Somerset, Kentish Plover and Lesser Scaup Somerset, King Eider in Cleveland, and Ferruginous Ducks in Norfolk and County Tyrone.

Scarcities included Ring-billed Gull (Cornwall), Sabine's Gull and Great Grey Shrike (Hampshire), Richard's Pipit (Dorset), Rose-coloured Starling and American Wigeon (Somerset), Surf Scoter (Anglesey), Black Brant (East Yorkshire), two each of Pallas's Warbler, Little Bunting, and Green-winged Teal, five Glossy Ibises, 11 Ring-necked Ducks, 14 Shorelarks, and a total of 42 Waxwings.
