Rarities today comprised the White-winged Scoter still in County Mayo, Pacific Diver still in Fife, Isabelline Wheatear still in Cornwall, Laughing Gull reported again in Devon, Pallid Harrier, Richardson's Cackling Goose, and Long-billed Dowitcher in Norfolk, Hume's Warblers in both Kent and Somerset, Kentish Plover in Somerset, King Eider in Cleveland, Lesser Scaups in Somerset and Surrey, and Ferruginous Ducks in both Norfolk (2) and Staffordshire. Scarcities incouded Pallas's Warbler (Kent), Ring-billed Gull (Clyde), Sabine's Gull (Hampshire), Richard's Pipit (Dorset), Rose-coloured Starling (Somerset), Green-winged Teal (County Kerry), two each of Little Bunting, American Wigeon, Surf Scoter, Lapland Bunting, Great Grey Shrike, Yellow-browed Warbler, Snow Goose, and Black Brant, four Glossy Ibises, 11 Ring-necked Ducks, 12 Shorelarks, and a total of 28 Waxwings. |
