Rarities today comprised the Harlequin Duck still on the Western Isles, White-winged Scoter still in County Mayo, both Isabelline Wheatear and American Herring Gull in Cornwall, Baikal Teal in Nottinghamshire, Pallid Harrier in Norfolk, Hume's Warblers in Kent and Somerset, Penduline Tits in County Cork (3) and Somerset, King Eider in Cleveland, Lesser Scaups in Somerset and Surrey, and Ferruginous Ducks in Norfolk and County Tyrone. Scarcities included Serin (Cornwall), Sabine's Gull (Hampshire), Black Brant (East Yorkshire), two Yellow-browed Warblers, three Green-winged Teals, four Ring-billed Gulls, nine Ring-necked Ducks, 19 Shorelarks, and a total of 45 Waxwings. |
