  New discoveries today included a Ferruginous Duck at Ballysaggart Lough, County Tyrone and a Black Kite near Walderslade, Kent.

Lingering rarities included the Baikal Teal in Powys, White-winged Scoters in County Mayo and Lothian, Hooded Merganser also in County Mayo, Lesser Scaup and two Cackling Geese in Western Isles, King Eider in Cleveland, Isabelline Wheatear and Laughing Gull in Devon, three Penduline Tits in County Cork, Pallid Harrier, Hume's Warbler and Long-billed Dowitcher in Norfolk, Greater Yellowlegs in County Waterford, Kentish Plover in Somerset and Hume's Warbler in Kent.

Scarcity highlights included a Pallas's Warbler, a Yellow-browed Warbler, a Lapland Bunting, two Little Buntings, ten Shorelarks, 29 Waxwings, an American Wigeon, two Surf Scoters, three Green-winged Teals, 11 Ring-necked Ducks, a Snow Goose, three Black Brants, four Taiga Bean Geese, seven Tundra Bean Geese, seven Glossy Ibises, a Lady Amherst's Pheasant, a Little Auk, a Leach's Petrel, three Grey Phalaropes, two Pomarine Skuas, a Sabine's Gull, two Ring-billed Gulls, three Kumlien's Gulls, seven Iceland Gulls and seven Glaucous Gulls.
