Rarities today comprised the White-throated Sparrow still in Cheshire, Hooded Merganser in County Mayo, Red-flanked Bluetails in both Lincolnshire and Isles of Scilly, Hume's Warblers in both Norfolk and Northumberland, Penduline Tit in East Sussex, King Eider in Cleveland, and on the Western Isles both Dusky Warbler and Cackling Goose.

Scarcities included Rough-legged Buzzard (North Yorkshire), Ring-billed Gull (Cornwall), Surf Scoter (Moray), American Wigeon (Dumfries and Galloway), Lapland Bunting (Highland), Black Brant (Hampshire), Kumlien's Gull (Shetland Isles), two Little Buntings, three Green-winged Teals, four Yellow-browed Warblers, five Ring-necked Ducks, nine Glossy Ibises, 12 Shorelarks, and a total of 58 Waxwings.
