| New discoveries today included an American Buff-bellied Pipit on Lundy, Devon, a Red-throated Pipit at Nanjizal, Cornwall, a Red-rumped Swallow at Hopton, Norfolk and a Bonaparte's Gull at Llys-y-Fran Reservoir, Pembrokes. A Spotted Sandpiper was identified at Hanningfield Reservoir, Essex, having been present nearly three weeks.
Other lingering rarities included the Myrtle Warbler, Wilson's Snipe, Red-flanked Bluetail and two Dusky Warblers in Scilly, Hume's Warblers in County Durham, Northumberland (two) and Borders, Isabelline Wheatear in Gwynedd, Pallid Harrier and Ferruginous Duck in Norfolk, Hooded Merganser in County Mayo, Lesser Yellowlegs in Orkney, Bonaparte's Gull in County Antrim and Richardson's Cackling Goose in County Sligo. |
