The highlight of the day was the discovery of both a White's Thrush and a Hornemann's Arctic Redpoll on the Orkney Isles on North Ronaldsay, whilst a Siberian Thrush was found dead nearby on Papa Westray. On the Western Isles a Gyr was now on Lewis at Loch Ordais whilst a Hornemann's Arctic Redpoll arrived on St Kilda.

On the Shetland Isles a Pallas's Grasshopper Warbler was new on Fair Isle, Eastern Yellow Wagtail, Olive-backed Pipit, King Eider, Surf Scoter, and Pectoral Sandpiper were all on Mainland, a Red-backed Shrike on Unst, and around the islands three Hornemann's Arctic Redpoll, three Barred Warblers, and a total of 10 Common Rosefinches. On the Isles of Scilly a Common Rosefinch was on Bryher and two Wrynecks were on St Mary's.

Other rarities comprised Baird's Sandpiper still in Aberdeenshire, Long-billed Dowitcher still on the Orkney, Red-footed Falcon still in Norfolk, and Pallid Harriers identified in Dorset at Hengistbury Head and Kent at Worth.
