	The main and obvious highlight of the day was the discovery of a juvenile Common Nighthawk found sat on a fence line in suburban Wantage, Oxfordshire. The bird showed very well to all visiting birders before flying high south at 6.55pm.   Other new rarities were both on Shetland with an Eastern Yellow Wagtail and a Hornemann’s Arctic Redpoll. Elsewhere lingering rarities included Red-footed Falcon in Norfolk and Baird’s Sandpiper in Aberdeenshire
