The highlight of the day was the discovery of a Semipalmated Sandpiper on the Orkney Isles on Westray whilst in Cornwall an
Iberian Chiffchaff was identified at Najizal. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the Roller in Devon, Western Bonelli's Warbler on the Shetland Isles, and Long-billed Dowtchers on both the Orkney Isles and Shetland. Scarcities included Buff-breasted Sandpiper (County Mayo), Ortolan Bunting (Dorset), Night Heron (Kent), two each of Bluethroat, American Golden Plover, and Rose-coloured Starling, and three Barred Warblers. |
