Another exciting day with more weather conducive for arrivals from the east including
Paddyfield Warbler in Norfolk at Blakeney Point, an Eastern Stonechat
species in East Yorkshire at Flamborough Head, Booted Warbler on the Isles Scilly,
Arctic Warblers in East Yorkshire and the Shetland Isles, Greenish Warblers in Northumberland, Shetland, and North Yorkshire,
Blyth's Reed Warblers in Norfolk, Shetland (2) and Suffolk, Citrine Wagtails in East Yorkshire, Scilly and Shetland (2),
Ortolan Bunting and Icterine Warbler on Scilly, two each of both
Barred Warbler and Red-backed Shrike, five Common Rosefinches, and seven
Wrynecks. From the opposite direction Nearctic waders comprised Wilson's Phalaropes in both County Kerry and the Western Isles, Lesser Yellowlegs in County Louth, White-rumped Sandpiper in Lothian, American Golden Plover on the Orkney Isles, and a total of 11 Pectoral Sandpipers. Other notable birds were the Greater Sand Plover still in Cleveland, Temminck's Stint in Nottinghamshire, Leach's Petrel in Norfolk, two Ferruginous Ducks, three each of both Purple Heron and Red-necked Phalarope, four of Spotted Crake and Cory's Shearwater, five Sabine's Gulls, 12 Great Shearwaters, 24 Long-tailed Skuas, and a total of 26 Glossy Ibises. |
