An exciting day headlined by a Sharp-tailed Sandpiper on the Isle of Man at Langness, a
Steppe Grey Shrike in Gloucestershire at Chipping Sodbury Common, Paddyfield Warblers in Cornwall at Nanjizal and on the Orkney Isles on North Ronaldsay, Western Bonelli's Warbler in Pembrokeshire on Skomer,
Subalpine Warbler species and Greenish Warbler together in Northumberland on Holy Island,
Wilson's Phalarope on the Western Isles on North Uist, Long-billed Dowitcher in County Clare at Doonbeg,
Citrine Wagtail on the Isles of Scilly on Tresco, and a White-rumped Sandpiper
in Lothian at Aberlady Bay. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the elusive Eleonora's Falcon in Norfolk, Greater Sand Plover in Cleveland, Booted Warbler and Wilson's Petrel on Scilly, Citrine Wagtail in County Wexford, Lesser Yellowlegs in County Louth, Bonaparte's Gull in County Cork, and Ferruginous Duck in Northamptonshire. Signifcant late news conerned a Pallid Harrier present yesterday at Fairlie, Ayrshire. |
