  Five Black-winged Stilts were discovered at Doddington, Cheshire, whilst lingering rarities seen today included the Harlequin Duck in Shetland, Turkestan Shrike in Yorkshire, Squacco Heron in Sussex, Lesser Yellowlegs in Scilly, Iberian Chiffchaff in London, seven Bee-eaters in Norfolk and Ferruginous Ducks in Warwickshire (two) and Northamptonshire. Three Wilson's Petrels were seen from the Scilly pelagic along with a Cory's Shearwater and 15 Great Shearwaters.

Other scarcity highlights included two Icterine Warblers, two Honey Buzzards, a Spotted Crake, a Night Heron, three Purple Herons, eight Glossy Ibises, a Temminck's Stint, a Pectoral Sandpiper, two Red-necked Phalaropes, a Glaucous Gull and an Iceland Gull.
