  Rarities today comprised the Cape Gull still in Cambridgeshire, Harlequin Duck on the Shetland Isles, Turkestan Shrike in East Yorkshire, Laughing Gull on the Isles of Scilly, Black Scoter in Aberdeenshire, Squacco Heron in West Sussex, King Eider in Lothian, White-rumped Sandpipers in both Leicestershire and East Yorkshire, two Ferruginous Ducks still together in Warwickshire, and Bee-eaters in both Hertfordshire and Norfolk (5).

Scarcities included Night Heron (Kent), Cory's Shearwater (County Kerry), Surf Scoter (Aberdeenshire), two each of Spotted Crake, Temminck's Stint, and Pectoral Sandpiper, three Purple Herons, and a total of 18 Glossy Ibises.
