  New discoveries today included an Aquatic Warbler at Lytchett Bay, Dorset, a Ferruginous Duck at Holme Pierrepont, Nottinghamshire, a Black Kite at Loch Caolisport, Argyll and a White-rumped Sandpiper at Frampton Marsh RSPB, Lincolnshire.

Lingering rarities included the Turkestan Shrike in Yorkshire, five Black-winged Stilts in Cheshire, Lesser Yellowlegs in Scilly, Squacco Heron in Sussex, seven Bee-Eaters in Norfolk and Ferruginous Ducks in Warwickshire (two) and Northamptonshire.

Scarcity highlights included a Rose-coloured Starling, two Wrynecks, three Icterine Warblers, a Pectoral Sandpiper, a Temminck's Stint, two Red-necked Phalaropes, two Spotted Crakes, two Honey Buzzards, two Purple Herons, 11 Glossy Ibises, a Pomarine Skua, a Sabine's Gull, 12 Cory's Shearwaters, 41 Great Shearwaters, two Glaucous Gulls and a Tundra Bean Goose.
