| The highlight of the day was the relocation of the Elegant Tern in Ireland at Inishroo, County Galway. Rarities elsewhere comprised the Turkestan Shrike still in East Yorkshire, Stilt Sandpiper in Lincolnshire, American Black Tern in Northumberland, Lesser Yellowlegs in Hampshire, White-rumped Sandpiper on the Shetland Isles, Caspian Terns in both Cleveland and Gloucestershire, Bonaparte's Gull in Kent, King Eider in Lothian, six Bee-eaters together in Norfolk, and the family of six Black-winged Stilts still in South Yorkshire. Scarcities included Night Heron (Kent), Purple Heron (Cornwall), Long-tailed Skua (County Durham), Glaucous Gull (Highland), two Sabine's Gulls, three Pectoral Sandpipers, and a total of 12 Glossy Ibises. |
