Southern rarities and scarcities today included a Western Subalpine Warbler in Cornwall at Housel Bay, an Iberian Chiffchaff
in Cumbria at Barow-in-Furness, a Black-winged Stilt still in Carmarthenshire,
Black Kite in Essex, Serin and Hoopoe in Kent, Hoopoe
on the Shetland Isles, and on the Isles of Scilly a probable Spanish
Wagtail. Other rarities comprised the Double-crested Cormorant still in County Leitrim, Belted Kingfisher still in Lancashire, Black-browed Albatross in East Yorkshire, Pacific Golden Plover in Suffolk, Red-breasted Goose in Norfolk, King Eider in Lothian, Blue-winged Teals in both Cambridgeshire and County Wexford, two Hornemann's Arctic Redpolls on Shetland, Dusky Warblers in London and Norfolk, Lesser Yellowlegs in Suffolk and County Wexford, two Richardson's Cackling Geese together in County Mayo, two White-billed Divers in Moray, Lesser Scaups in Essex, Somerset, and the Western Isles. |
