  The highlight of the day was the discovery of two Blue-winged Teals: a female in Buckinghamshire at Little Marlow, and a male at Tacumshin, County Wexford.

Rarities elsewhere comprised the Belted Kingfisher still in Lancashire, White-tailed Lapwing in Lincolnshire, Bonaparte's Gulls in both West Sussex and County Wexford, two Penduline Tits together in Somerset, Dusky Warblers in London and Norfolk, King Eider in Lothian, Lesser Scaup Dumfries and Galloway, Lesser Yellowlegs in Suffolk and County Wexford, and on the Western Isles Lesser Scaup, Richardson's Cackling Goose, and White-billed Diver.

Scarcities included Hoopoe (Isles of Scilly), Spotted Crake (Devon), Temminck's Stint (Kent), American Wigeon (Isle of Man), Ring-billed Gull (County Cork), Yellow-browed Warbler (Dorset), Lapland Bunting (Norfolk), Snow Goose (Western Isles), two each of Serin and Great Grey Shrike, three Surf Scoters, five Shorelarks, six Green-winged Teals, nine Ring-necked Ducks, and a total of 34 Glossy Ibises.
