  Rarities comprised the Double-crested Cormorant still in County Leitrim, American Robin still in East Sussex, White-tailed Lapwing in Lincolnshire, Northern Harrier in County Offaly, American Coot in County Kerry, Ross's Gull in Aberdeenshire, Baikal Teals in both East Yorkshire and Somerset, Red-breasted Geese in Lincolnshire and Norfolk, three Penduline Tits in Somerset, Lesser Yellowlegs in Suffolk, King Eiders in Highland and Lothian, and Lesser Scaups in Dorset and the Western Isles (3).

Scarcities included Little Bunting (East Sussex), Rose-coloured Starling (Cornwall), American Wigeon (Northumberland), Dotterel (Norfolk), Leach's Petrel (Somerset), two each of both Surf Scoter and Kumlien's Gull, three Green-winged Teals, four of Ring-billed Gull, Snow Goose, and Shorelark, seven Waxwings, 17 Ring-necked Ducks, and a total of 25 Glossy Ibises.
