  Rarities today comprised both the American Robin and Hume's Warbler still in East Sussex, Belted Kingfisher still in Lancashire, American Coot in County Wexford, Baikal Teal and three Penduline Tits in Somerset, Ross's Gull in Aberdeenshire, Pacific Diver in Glamorgan, Pied-billed Grebe in Argyll, Red-beasted Geese in Essex, Lincolnshire, and Norfolk, Red-flanked Bluetail in County Durham, King Eider in Highland, Lesser Yellowlegs in Suffolk, Ferruginous Duck in Oxfordshire, White-billed Divers in Northumberland and the Shetland Isles, and Lesser Scaups in Clyde (3), Dorset, and the Western Isles.

Scarcities included Short-toed Lark (Norfolk), Little Bunting (East Sussex), two each of American Wigeon, Great Grey Shrike, Yellow-browed Warbler, Black Brant, and Kumlien's Gull, three Surf Scoters, four Waxwings, five of Ring-billed Gull and Snow Goose, six Green-winged Teals, seven Shorelarks, 17 Ring-necked Ducks, 24 Glossy Ibises, and 45 Lapland Buntings (all together in East Yorkshire).
