Rarities today comprised the Belted Kingfisher still in Lancashire, White-tailed Lapwing still in Lincolnshire, Semipalmated Plover in County Cork, Baikal Teal
and three Penduline Tits in Somerset, Pacific Diver in Glamorgan, Ross's Goose in Clyde,
Red-breasted Geese in Essex and Lincolnshire, Red-flanked Bluetail in County Durham,
King Eider in Highland, Ferruginous Duck in Surrey, and Lesser Scaup in both Ayrshire and Dorset. Scarcities included Serin (Hertfordshire), Rose-coloured Starling (Cornwall), Sabine's Gull (Kent), Ring-billed Gull (Lothian), American Wigeon (Nottinghamshire), Surf Scoter (Cornwall), Snow Goose (Orkney Isles), Black Brant (Norfolk), two each of Great Grey Shrike, Yellow-browed Warbler, Grey Phalarope, and Kumlien's Gull, five Green-winged Teals, nine Shorelarks, 15 Ring-necked Ducks, and a total of 17 Glossy Ibises. |
