  New discoveries today included a Red-flanked Bluetail at Lerwick, Shetland and two White-billed Divers off Griminish Point, Western Isles.

Lingering rarities included the Taiga Flycatcher, Red-flanked Bluetail and White-tailed Lapwing in Yorkshire, White-crowned Sparrow in Shetland, Wilson's Phalarope and Bonaparte's Gull in Northumberland, Pacific Golden Plover in Lincolnshire, Lesser Yellowlegs in County Wexford, White-winged Scoter in Lothian, King Eider in Moray, Lesser Scaup in Scilly, Ferruginous Duck in Staffordshire and Ross's Goose in Ayrshire.

Scarcity highlights included a Short-toed Lark, a Red-breasted Flycatcher, a Hoopoe, a Rose-coloured Starling, a Barred Warbler, a Yellow-browed Warbler, two Great Grey Shrikes, two Lapland Buntings, seven Shorelarks, an American Wigeon, three Green-winged Teal, five Surf Scoters, nine Ring-necked Ducks, a Black Brant, six Tundra Bean Geese, a Pectoral Sandpiper, two American Golden Plovers, eight Grey Phalaropes, 16 Glossy Ibises, a Sabine's Gull, two Iceland Gulls, six Glaucous Gulls, two Pomarine Skuas, three Leach's Petrels and 1,892 Little Auks.
