| Rarities today comprised the Hudsonian Whimbrel and Lesser Scaup both still in Cornwall, Long-billed Dowitcher in Leicestershire,
Penudline Tits in Cleveland (2), Essex and Gloucestershire (2), King Eider
in County Wexford, Lesser Scaup in Glamorgan and Richardson's Cackling Goose in Argyll. Scarcities included Pallas's Warbler (Dorset), Hoopoe (West Midlands), Yellow-browed Warbler (Cornwall), two each of both Rough-legged Buzzard and Cattle Egret, three of Richard's Pipit, Shorelark, Ring-billed Gull, Surf Scoter and American Wigeon, four Snow Geese (together in Aberdeenshire), five Glossy Ibises, 13 Great Grey Shrikes and 14 Lapland Buntings. Incoming summer migrants included 11 Wheatears, seven Sand Martins and two White Wagtails. |
