| Rarities today comprised the Paddyfield Warbler still on the Shetland Isles,
Broad-billed Sandpiper in Norfolk, White-rumped Sandpiper in East Yorkshire,
Bonaparte's Gull in Kent, Red-footed Falcon in Staffordshire, and
Lesser Scaup still in Somerset, whilst brief encounters included a Caspian Tern
reported passing East Yorkshire, and a Black Kite in Suffolk. The best of the scarcities were Rose-coloured Starling (Western Isles), Red-backed Shrike (Hampshire and Oxfordshire), Temminck's Stint (Gwent), Pectoral Sandpiper (County Wexford), and Ring-billed Gull (Cornwall and County Donegal). Seawatching highlights were two each of both Cory's and Great Shearwater off Cornwall, and a Long-tailed Skua passing County Waterford. |
