  New discoveries comprised two Ortolan Buntings on Shetland (on Fair Isle and Whalsay), Subalpine Warbler in Dorset, Pallid Harrier in Norfolk and Long-billed Dowitcher in Cumbria.

Lingering rarities included Red-rumped Swallows in Kent and Cambridgeshire, White-billed Diver in Orkney, Blue-winged Teal in Clyde, Squacco Heron in Somerset, two Black-winged Stilts in Kent and Glossy Ibises remained in West Sussex (2) and Pembrokeshire (3).

The best of the rest comprised Grey-headed Wagtails in Norfolk and Western Isles, Woodchat Shrike and two Serins on Isles of Scilly, Pectoral Sandpiper in Devon, Red-spotted Bluethroat and Red-backed Shrike on Shetland and Kentish Plover in Cornwall.
