In East Anglia, a Long-billed Dowitcher was found this evening at
Livermere Lake in west Suffolk and a Citrine Wagtail was seen briefly at
Holme in Norfolk. A Savi's Warbler, found at Rutland Water in
Leicestershire this morning, performed fairly well at times but remained elusive
at others. A Glossy Ibis was at Christchurch in Dorset and later at
Pennington in Hampshire, whilst in Pembrokeshire the three Glossy Ibises were
joined by a fourth today. Red-rumped Swallows also featured significantly
with new birds at Goldcliff in Gwent and Hornsea Mere in East Yorkshire, whilst
two remained on the Scillies, today being found on Tresco. Two Bee-eaters
flew over Great Ormes Head in Conwy.
The Squacco Heron was seen twice briefly again at Chew Valley Lake in Somerset. In Flintshire the Black-winged Pratincole was at Burton Wetlands in the morning only and in Yorkshire the possible Atlas Flycatcher was still at Flamborough Head. Black-winged Stilts remained in Cambridgeshire and on the Isle of May in Fife and the long staying Greater Yellowlegs was still to be found in Aberdeenshire. In Kent the Little Bunting was trapped again at Sandwich Bay. Popular scarcities included a trip of 15 Dotterels in Surrey/London and a Kentish Plover in East Sussex. White Storks included five in Hampshire and two in Kent and then Sussex. |
