Saturday 5th May 2012  
  The highlight of the day was Britain's 16th Calandra Lark, which paused briefly at Sandwich Bay, Kent, before flying north. Other rarity highlights today included a Pallid Harrier on the north Norfolk coast, a Citrine Wagtail at Ballynamona, County Cork and a Black Kite over Ibsley, Hampshire.

Other new discoveries included single Red-rumped Swallows in Kent, Oxfordshire, Devon and County Cork, Black-winged Stilts in Kent (4), Lincolnshire (2) and Devon and Glossy Ibises in Shropshire, Sussex, Essex and Ayrshire.

Lingering rarity highlights were the Savi's Warbler in Leicestershire, Long-billed Dowitcher in Suffolk, Greater Yellowlegs in Aberdeenshire, Squacco Heron in Somerset, Red-rumped Swallow in Gwent, Little Bunting in Kent and the possible Atlas Flycatcher in Yorkshire.
