  Rarities recorded today comprised both the Spanish Sparrow and Dark-eyed Junco still in Hampshire, Bufflehead in Cornwall, Paddyfield Warbler and Parrot Crossbill in West Sussex, Lesser White-fronted Goose, Coues's Arctic Redpoll and Ross's Goose in Norfolk, Forster's Tern in County Galway, Red-breasted Goose in Devon, Blue-winged Teal on the Isles of Scilly, Spotted Sandpiper in Dorset, Long-billed Dowitchers in Carmarthenshire and County Wexford (2), Lesser Scaups in both Glamorgan and Gloucestershire, Ferruginous Ducks in Berkshire and Somerset, Northern Long-tailed Tit in West Yorkshire, and Glossy Ibises in Devon, Lancashire and Pembrokes (14).

Continuing influxes of scarcities included totals of 83 Tundra Bean Geese and 115 Smew (including 34 in Norfolk), with gulls represented by 140 Iceland, 23 Glaucous, 14 Caspian, three Ring-billed and two Kumlien's.
