Today's best new discovery was a Long-billed Dowitcher at Kidwelly Quay (Carmarthenshire). Earlier in the year a Long-billed Dowitcher was present at the same site between 29th September and 11th October.

Lingering rarities included Lesser Scaups in Somerset and Gloucestershire, Dusky Warbler and Blue-winged Teal on Isles of Scilly, Western Sandpiper and Ferruginous Duck in Norfolk, Desert Wheatears in Northumberland and East Yorkshire, Glossy Ibises in Kent (2) and Lancashire, Spotted Sandpipers in Dorset and Devon, Hume's Yellow-browed Warbler in Dorset and American Buff-bellied Pipit in Co Waterford. In Moray two King Eiders were reported in Burghead harbour.

The best of the rest included American Wigeon in West Yorkshire, Cattle Egrets in Hampshire and Dorset, Richard's Pipit in Dorset, Yellow-browed Warbler in Devon and Surf Scoter in Cornwall.
