Lingering rarities confirmed as still present today were the Western
Sandpiper, Coues's Arctic Redpoll and Ferruginous Duck in Norfolk,
Greater Yellowlegs in Highland, Wilson's Snipe and Dusky Warbler on the Isles of Scilly,
Bufflehead in Cornwall, Desert Wheatear in Northumberland, Hume's Yellow-browed Warbler in Dorset,
Red-breasted Goose and Spotted Sandpiper in Devon, Spotted
Sandpiper and Lesser Scaup in Somerset, Lesser Scaup in Gloucestershire, and
Glossy Ibises in both Kent (2) and Lancashire. Scarcities included Richard's Pipit (Lincolnshire), Yellow-browed Warbler (Isle of Scilly), Surf Scoter (Devon), American Wigeon (Devon and West Yorkshire), Ring-necked Duck (Cornwall and Norfolk) and Snow Goose (Perth and Kinross). A total of 93 Tundra Bean Geese were logged across six counties between Clyde, Lancashire and Suffolk. |
