Headline birds today were a Paddyfield Warbler on the Shetland Isles at Grutness and a
Terek Sandpiper in County Dublin at the Rogerstown Estuary. Elsewhere, a mobile
Caspian Tern was located in Aberdeenshire, the Blue-winged Teal continued to linger in Cambridgeshire, as did the
Great Reed Warbler in Derbyshire and the Red-footed Falcon in East Sussex. Scarcities included Purple Heron (Kent), White-spotted Bluethroat (Norfolk), Common Rosefinch (Forth), Temminck's Stint (Aberdeenshire), Ring-necked Duck (Perth and Kinross) and both Serin and Red-necked Phalarope in Lincolnshire. |
