| Late news from yesterday related to a Bridled Tern photographed at
East Chevington NWT at midday. A report of the bird at Budle Bay
this morning quickly followed the release of the news of yesterday's sighting, but there was no sign of it there later this afternoon.
Elsewhere new rarities included a Red-footed Falcon at Dungeness RSPB (Kent), a Black Stork flew south in Lothian and Bee-eaters were recorded in Devon, Dorset and Somerset. The Blue-winged Teal in Cambridgeshire, Terek Sandpiper in Co Dublin, Glossy Ibis in Co Wexford, Red-footed Falcon in East Sussex, Great Reed Warbler in Derbyshire and Iberian Chiffchaff in South Yorkshire all lingered. The best of the rest came in the form of Night Heron on Western Isles, Serin on Isles of Scilly, Marsh Warbler on Isle of Wight, Red-backed Shrikes in Aberdeenshire and Kent and Common Rosefinch in Perth & Kinross. |
