A male Rustic Bunting was new in on Fair Isle, Shetland today, as was a Bluethroat. A Great Reed Warbler was trapped and ringed at Malltraeth RSPB, Anglesey, but unfortunately was not seen after release. A drake Blue-winged Teal in Cambridgeshire, the second in just under three weeks and just the eighth for the county, was found at Fen Drayton Lakes RSPB mid morning, where it remained until dusk.

Long staying rarities logged today included the Marmora's Warbler and Iberian Chiffchaff in Gwent (with another of the latter still in Yorkshire), Broad-billed Sandpiper in Cleveland and Great Reed Warbler in Derbyshire.

Classic mid summer scarcities were represented by two Common Rosefinches, a Red-backed Shrike in Northumberland, a Marsh Warbler in South Yorkshire and a Golden Oriole in Cornwall, whilst the White-spotted Bluethroat remained in Norfolk.
