| The only new rarity reported today was a belated record of a Black Stork
flying over Jurston on Dartmoor in Devon. Long staying rarities that were still
attracting admirers included the Marmora's Warbler and Iberian
Chiffchaff in Gwent, the Great Reed Warbler in Derbyshire and the
Broad-billed Sandpiper in Cleveland.
In London the Common Rosefinch was seen again at Tottenham Marsh, but proved somewhat elusive. A new Red-backed Shrike was found near Alnmouth in Northumberland and 21 Spoonbills were reported, including 8 together at Gibraltar Point in Lincolnshire. Elsewhere, a Pomarine Skua was off Flamborough Head in Yorkshire and the White-spotted Bluethroat continued to hold territory at Welney in Norfolk. |
