| A Bee-eater at Cemlyn, Anglesey was the only new rarity discovered
today, remaining in the area all day.
There were still plenty of long staying rarities, however, headlined by the territorial male Marmora's Warbler at Blorenge, Gwent, with the Iberian Chiffchaff likewise in Wentwood Forest. The singing male Great Reed Warbler was present for its 32nd day at Straws Bridge, Derbyshire. Other long staying rarities included Iberian Chiffchaff at Potteric Carr, Yorkshire and Broad-billed Sandpiper at Saltholme, Cleveland. The Red-footed Falcon spent its third day at Exminster Marshes, Devon. Scarcity highlight was a Common Rosefinch in London, with runner-ups including Red-backed Shrike and White-spotted Bluethroat in Norfolk, Golden Oriole in Cornwall, singing Marsh Warblers in Suffolk, Isle of Wight and Highland and a Great White Egret in County Wexford. |
