| Discoveries today included, in Scotland, an Iberian Chiffchaff in Aberdeenshire at St Cyrus, and a Baird's Sandpiper in Shetland at Pool of Virkie, Mainland; this is the fourth of the latter species to be located between Britain and Ireland in 2026. Continuing rarities confirmed as still present today comprised the Long-tailed Shrike along the Gloucestershire/ Oxfordshire border, Blue-cheeked Bee-eater and Semipalmated Sandpiper together in Orkney, Black-winged Kite and two Black Storks in Norfolk, Hudsonian Godwit and four Zitting Cisticolas in Suffolk, White-throated Sparrow and Lesser Scaup in Fife, White-winged Scoter in Lothian, Western Subalpine Warbler in Shetland, American Black Tern in Northumberland, Red-footed Falcon in Lothian, and White-rumped Sandpiper in County Wexford and East Yorkshire. |
