  New rarities included Hornemann's Arctic Redpoll on St. Mary's, Scilly, Bufflehead on Barra, Western Isles, Olive-backed Pipit at Hillwell in Shetland, Lesser Scaup at Chew Valley Lake, Somerset, and Lesser Scaup at Portmore Lough, Co. Antrim.

Continuing rarities included Zitting Cisticolas at Walberswick, Suffolk, Black-faced Bunting on Fair Isle, Brown Shrike in Suffolk, Steppe Grey Shrike in Cornwall, Daurian Shrike in Co. Wexford, Isabelline Shrike sp. in West Sussex, Lesser Yellowlegs in Cornwall and Co. Antrim, White-rumped Sandpiper in Staffordshire, Lesser Scaup in Northants and Dumfries & Galloway, Northern Harriers in Co. Wexford, Bonaparte's Gull in Co. Antrim, Harlequin Duck in Co. Donegal, Long-billed Dowitcher in Angus, Baikal Teal in Dorset, Pallid Harrier in Glamorgan, Oriental Turtle Dove in Shetland, and Richardson's Cackling Goose in Argyll.
