A Pechora Pipit at The Leas near Trow Quarry in South Shields, Co.Durham was the standout bird of the day.
Also noted were a Blue-winged Teal on mainland Shetland, an Alpine Swift at Portland in Dorset, and a Greenish Warbler at Spurn in East Yorkshire, and late news of a Blyth's Reed Warbler on Fair Isle in Shetland. Continuing rarities included a Swainson's Thrush at Cuithir on Barra in Western Isles, an Isabelline Wheatear at Eoropie on Lewis in Western Isles, a Lesser Yellowlegs at Etton Maxey Pits in Cambridgeshire, a Lesser Scaup at Aqualate Mere in Staffordshire, a Hornemann's Redpoll at Isbister on Mainland in Shetland, a Red-footed Falcon at Elmley NNR on Isle of Sheppey in Kent, a Baird's Sandpiper at Otter Estuary NR in Devon, a Marsh Sandpiper at Musselburgh Lagoons in Lothian, a Long-billed Dowitcher at Tacumshin in Co.Wexford, a White-rumped Sandpiper at Tacumshin in Co.Wexford, a Western Sandpiper at Maidens in Ayrshire, a Laughing Gull at Trabeg in Co.Kerry, a Bonaparte's Gull at Ballyconneely Strand in Co.Galway, a Brown Shrike on Papa Westray in Orkney, and a Lesser Yellowlegs at The Gearagh in Co.Cork. |

95+ Band-rumped Petrels recently at sea over the Continental Shelf in Scilly and a Swainson's Thrush at Cuithir on Barra in Western Isles were the standout birds.
Also noted were a Scopoli's Shearwater recently at sea over the Continental Shelf in Scilly, Baird's Sandpipers at Otter Estuary NR in Devon and Ring Strand in Co.Cork, Red-rumped Swallows at Pilmore in Co.Cork and The Naze in Essex, a Kentish Plover at Seasalter in Kent, a Wilson's Phalarope at Cashen Estuary in Co.Kerry, and a Greenish Warbler north of Horden in Co.Durham. Continuing rarities included an Arctic Warbler on St.Kilda in Western Isles, a Baird's Sandpiper on St.Kilda in Western Isles, a Brown Shrike on Papa Westray in Orkney, a Greenish Warbler at Kilnsea in East Yorkshire, a Hornemann's Redpoll at North Roe on Mainland in Shetland, an Isabelline Wheatear at Eoropie on Lewis in Western Isles, a Lesser Yellowlegs at Etton Maxey Pits in Cambridgeshire, Long-billed Dowitchers on Sanday in Orkney and at Tacumshin in Co.Wexford, a Marsh Sandpiper at Musselburgh Lagoons in Lothian, a Spotted Sandpiper at Porth Hellick Pool on St.Mary's in Scilly, a Western Bonelli's Warbler on Lundy in Devon, a Western Bonelli's Warbler on St.Martin's in Scilly, and a Western Sandpiper at Maidens in Ayrshire. |

In Shetland, a Brown Shrike was found on Fair Isle, a Blue-winged Teal and Blyth's Reed Warbler were on Unst and a Hornemann's Redpoll was at North Roe, Mainland, and another Brown Shrike was on Papa Westray, Orkney. Further south, a Semipalmated Sandpiper and a Lesser Yellowlegs were at The Gearagh, County Cork, single Baird's Sandpipers were at Wells, Norfolk and Kildonan, Western Isles, a Lesser Scaup was at Draycote Water, Warwickshire, a Greenish Warbler was at Kilnsea, Yorkshire, a Red-rumped Swallow was at East Prawle, Devon and an Alpine Swift was at Creech St Michael, Somerset.
Lingering rarities included two Zitting Cisticolas in Suffolk, Isabelline Wheatear in Western Isles, Western Bonelli's Warblers in Scilly and Devon, Arctic Warbler in Orkney, Western Sandpiper in Ayrshire, Marsh Sandpiper in Lothian, Lesser Yellowlegs in Cambridgeshire, White-rumped Sandpiper in County Kerry, Black Kite in Cornwall and Ferruginous Duck in Warwickshire. |

A Lesser Kestrel on St.Kilda, Western Isles was present on Tuesday, but with no sign today.
Continuing rarities included a Western Bonelli's Warbler on St.Martin's in Scilly, a Spotted Sandpiper on St.Agnes in Scilly, a Lesser Yellowlegs at Etton Maxey Pits in Cambridgeshire, a Western Sandpiper at Maidens in Ayrshire, a Ferruginous Duck at Draycote Water in Warwickshire, an Isabelline Wheatear on Lewis in Western Isles, a White-rumped Sandpiper at Tacumshin in Co.Wexford, a Wilson's Phalarope at Lough Mourne in Co.Antrim, a Marsh Sandpiper at Musselburgh Lagoons in Lothian, a Black Kite at Polgigga in Cornwall. |

Nearctic waders today comprised the Western Sandpiper still in Ayrshire, Wilson's Phalaropes in County Antrim and County Kerry (2), Lesser Yellowlegs in Cambridgeshire, Long-billed Dowitcher in Orkney, Buff-breasted Sandpiper in Aberdeenshire, White-rumped Sandpipers in County Kerry and Suffolk, four American Golden Plovers, and a total of eight Pectoral Sandpipers.
Rarities elsewhere comprised the Marsh Sandpiper still in Lothian, Laughing Gull in County Kerry, Western Bonelli's Warbler in the Isles of Scilly, Blyth's Reed Warbler new on Shetland on Fair Isle, and a Red-footed Falcon still in Kent. Significant late news for yesterday concerned a Citrine Wagtail at Gladhouse Reservoir, Lothian. |

New discoveries today included a Yelkouan Shearwater off Bardsey, Gwynedd, two Wilson's Phalaropes at Ballyheigue and another at Black Rock, both County Kerry, an Isabelline Wheatear at Eoropie and a second Baird's Sandpiper plus an Arctic Warbler on St Kilda, both Western Isles, a Bonelli's Warbler species on St Martin's, Scilly and a Lesser Yellowlegs at Etton, Cambridgeshire.
Lingering rarities included the Western Sandpiper in Ayrshire, Marsh Sandpiper in Lothian, Long-billed Dowitcher in Orkney, Semipalmated Sandpiper, White-rumped Sandpiper and Laughing Gull in County Kerry, Ferruginous Duck in Warwickshire, Black Kite in Cornwall and Red-footed Falcon in Kent. |

New discoveries today included a Barolo Shearwater off Pendeen, Cornwall, an Arctic Warbler on North Ronaldsay and a Franklin's Gull on Westray, both Orkney, and a Semipalmated Sandpiper at Trabeg and a Lesser Yellowlegs at Kenmare, both County Kerry.
Lingering rarities included the Western Sandpiper in Ayrshire, Marsh Sandpiper in Lothian, Baird's Sandpiper in Western Isles, Spotted Sandpiper in Scilly, Long-billed Dowitcher in Orkney, Ferruginous Duck in Warwickshire, Red-rumped Swallow in Cornwall and Red-footed Falcon in Kent. |

The highlight of the day was the discovery of a Terek Sandpiper in County Sligo at Ballysadare Bay which was the first in Ireland since 2016; the last in Britain was in 2020. Nearctic shorebirds today comprised the Western Sandpiper still in Ayrshire, Wilson's Phalarope still in County Antrim, Spotted Sandpiper still in the Isles of Scilly, two Buff-breasted Sandpipers, Baird's Sandpipers in Argyll, Orkney, and County Derry, and seven of both American Golden Plover and Pectoral Sandpiper. Otherwise rarities today included three Zitting Cisticolas still together in Suffolk, Black-winged Pratincole still in Highland, Marsh Sandpiper still in Lothian, Red-footed Falcon in Kent, Lesser Scaup in Staffordshire, and Red-rumped Swallows in both Cornwall and Kent. |

New rarities today were Red-rumped Swallows at Hornsea Mere in East Yorkshire and Siblyback Lake in Cornwall, Spotted Sandpipers at Maer Lake in Cornwall and St. Mary's on Scilly, and a Lesser Scaup at Cheddar Reservoir in Somerset.
Continuing rarities included two Zitting Cisticolas near Walberswick in Suffolk, a White-rumped Sandpiper at Black Rock in County Kerry, a Long-billed Dowitcher at Sanday in Orkney, a Wilson's Phalarope at Portmore Lough RSPB in County Antrim, a Lesser Yellowlegs at Ouse Washes RSPB in Cambridgeshire, a Marsh Sandpiper at Musselburgh Lagoons in Lothian, a Baird's Sandpiper at Myroe Levels in County Derry, a White-rumped Sandpiper at Tacumshin in County Wexford, a Baird's Sandpiper at Siblyback Lake in Cornwall, a Western Sandpiper at Maidens in Ayrshire, and a Baird's Sandpiper at St. Kilda in the Western Isles. |

New discoveries today included single Wilson's Phalaropes at Doonbeg, County Clare and Portmore Lough, County Antrim, a Lesser Yellowlegs at Isleham, Cambridgeshire, a Baird's Sandpiper at Faulmore, County Mayo, a White-rumped Sandpiper at Black Rock, County Kerry and a Red-rumped Swallow at Holt, Norfolk.
Lingering rarities included the Western Sandpiper in Ayrshire, Marsh Sandpiper in Lothian, Baird's Sandpipers in Cornwall, County Derry and County Mayo, two White-winged Scoters in Angus, Ferruginous Duck in Warwickshire and Black Kite in Cornwall. |
