New headline birds included a Black-winged Pratincole on North Uist in the Western Isles and two White-winged Scoters off Kinnaber Links in Angus.
Also new were a Caspian Tern in Leicestershire at Eyebrook Reservoir, a Laughing Gull in St Ives, Cornwall, and a White-rumped Sandpiper at Oare Marshes, Kent. Continuing rarities included White-rumped Sandpipers in Norfolk and East Yorkshire, a Black Stork in Suffolk, a Bonaparte's Gull in Kent, a Western Sandpiper in Ayrshire, a Long-billed Dowitcher in County Wexford, a Ferruginous Duck in Warwickshire, Lesser Scaups in Staffordshire, an Eastern Subalpine Warbler on Fair Isle in Shetland, an American Black Tern in Lothian and a White-winged Scoter also in Lothian. |
