Exciting news today of a Eyebrowed Thrush on Shetland at Gutcher, Yell; eight of the 31 British records have occurred in the last five years. Discoveries elsewhere included a Whiskered Tern in Cornwall at Helston Loe Pool, Lesser Scaup in Perth and Kinross at Vane Farm, Red-rumped Swallow in East Yorkshire at Spurn, and Black Kites in Kent at Seasalter and East Yorkshire at Buckton. Continuing rarities comprised the Least Tern still in County Dublin, Western Sandpiper in Ayrshire, and American Black Tern in Northumberland.
