| The highlight of the day was a Black-browed Albatross in County Mayo passing The Mullet in the morning within an unprecedented movement of over 45,000 Great Shearwaters along the west coast of Ireland. Elsewhere, an Olive-backed Pipit was new on the Shetland Isles at Lerwick, Mainland, as was a White-rumped Sandpiper on the Western Isles on South Uist, and single Lesser Scaups in Argyll on Islay and in County Wexford at Cahore.
Continuing rarities confirmed as still present were the Black-faced Bunting on the Orkney Isles, Isabelline Shrike species in Dorset, Red-flanked Bluetail in East Yorkshire, Eastern Stonechat species in Cornwall, Iberian Chiffchaff in County Cork, Dusky Warbler in County Waterford, Pallid Harrier in Norfolk, Spotted Sandpiper in Fife, Long-billed Dowitchers in both Devon and Norfolk, Lesser Yellowlegs on the Isles of Scilly, and Lesser Scaup in Staffordshire. |
